Today will close out a productive four days at the 2014 Texas Emergency Management Conference held in San Antonio, TX. It was great to hear from the hundreds of local and state first responders, emergency managers, and decision makers in attendance about their priorities, challenges, and accomplishments.

Throughout March and April, Massachusetts held a series of FirstNet information and outreach sessions in five locations statewide. The sessions were facilitated by the Massachusetts Public Safety Broadband Office (PSBO), a new office that was established to collaborate with first responders, public safety entities, and other stakeholders about FirstNet.

Yesterday was the beginning of the annual week-long celebration to honor our nation’s law enforcement, with special recognition for the men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. National Police Week runs May 11-17 this year and has its roots in a presidential proclamation that designates May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day.
