WESTIMINSTER, COLO - The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) today formally announced the process it will use for performing a comprehensive nationwide search to select a General Manager. During today’s meeting of the FirstNet Governance and Personnel Committee, Chairwoman Sue Swenson said the committee would retain a professional executive search firm to assist in the process and also use an open application process to be posted for the public on www.usajobs.gov.

“A strong and experienced management team is critical to moving forward with implementing our strategic roadmap and developing a definitive business plan for the nationwide public safety broadband network,” she said. “We are moving quickly to recruit, identify, and select a leader who brings the right blend of executive experience and leadership skills.”

The Governance and Personnel Committee approved Resolution 2, “General Manager Hiring Process” today, which adopts the process for selecting the General Manager. The position will be located in FirstNet’s new Reston, VA headquarters, where staff began working from today. FirstNet Deputy General Manager TJ Kennedy assumed the duties of the General Manager in April.
